DRAFT REVISED DATABASE

The original database, prepared in February 2008 and appearing as pages 31 to 96 in the booklet, contained descriptions of all the recognised historical sites south of the boundary of the Dartmoor National Park. This new extended edition covers the whole Parish up to its northernmost point on the Moor near Redlake. (Click here to download as Word 97 / 2003 doc or Word 2007 docx. The index for it is available here.)Because of the Parish’s special richness in archaeological remains, both prehistoric and industrial, and its interesting stone-marked boundaries with other parishes, this version contains entries for about twice as many sites as the original.

Downloadable files (NB. I will try and put the maps readable online when I have time - webmaster)

The draft database will remain on the Ugborough website for a month to allow any interested persons to provide appropriate additions, corrections or general remarks on the presentation, after which a final version will be prepared. Particularly welcome would be comments on the accuracy of descriptions or map references from those with special local knowledge of individual sites. (Some imperfections in the present layout such as empty rows or missing page headings will be corrected in the final version and can be ignored at this stage).
